BootCamp fails to start after upgrade to MacOS Sierra 10.12.1

After upgrading my MacBook (Retina 12-Inch, Early 2015) to the newest version of MacOS Sierra 10.12.1, my Windows 10 Bootcamp won't boot and throws off an ACPI.SYS error. Since the keyboard and mouse does not work in Recovery Mode, I plugged in a keyboard. I did a "Reset Files" and nothing. Before I wipe out my BootCamp partition and start over I wonder if anyone else encountered this problem after updating from MacOS Sierra 10.12.0...

For those of you continuing to struggle with this issue, I wanted to provide you with the specific fix that worked for me, which is a variation on the theme. I did not end up having to reinstall Windows, which would have been a nightmare. Hopefully, Apple addresses this issue soon!

I was finally able to boot into my system after a god-awful number of tries. For some reason, it only occasionally works, with seemingly no rhyme nor reason. I tried variations of holding "option" at boot and selecting the boot camp partition, and booting into safe mode on the rare occasion that I was presented with recovery options. It also seemed like variations of having an external monitor and power hooked up seemed to help it boot – I never did get it to boot into Windows without being “docked.” Anyhow, all speculation… but if you can achieve a boot or safe mode of some kind:

In Windows Device Manager, I attempted to disable the Bluetooth adapter as mentioned in other threads, but it did not do anything – the same problem persisted. After trying many other solutions/restores/etc., I looked at the “devices by connection” view of device manager and noticed that Bluetooth was a child of “Broadcom Serial Bus Driver over UART Bus Enumerator.” I tried disabling that parent device (it is under “System devices”), and lo and behold, everything is rock solid again with multiple reboots.

While I have to live without Bluetooth connectivity, I think this is better than reinstalling the whole setup… hopefully we just have to live with that limitation until Apple issues a real fix and then we can re-enable Bluetooth.

So - the Windows 10 iso is 4.38gb which is too large (4gb limit) for a FAT32 USB so I can't copy it.

Even if I extract the content the "sources" folder fails to copy and I have to start it again and again.

Why doesn't apple let you uninstall an OS 10.12.1patch ?

This issue is so frustrating, no point in doing a new Bootcamp install as the same issue will just reccur.

I don't even have any real data on the Windows10 partition, just a few apps. Its more the principle of being able to fix it if Im honest.

1)Run BC Assistant, under Action -> Download.... Get the BC Drivers to USB drive 1.

Done

2)Mount single 64-bit ISO and copy the contents to Usb drive 2.

Wait, what now I need a second USB ?

What format?

3)Do not copy the ISO file directly to a USB.

Well I can't as this fails anyway.

4)Copy the BC drivers to the root of Usb drive 2.

Do you mean USB Drive 1? As in step 1?

You do not want to mix Beta and GA releases on the same Mac. It gets very nasty, especially for testing. Most users here will be on GA releases. Beta can also break stuff. A Test Mac is a better choice for a Beta release. Also, from https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/faq ,

but then the windows 10 installation crashes in AppleSSD.sys just after entering the Windows 10 license code.

Please remove AppleSSD.sys from the $WinPEDriver$ directory if you are using a USB Installer, otherwise you need to build one manually and remove it and then try to install it.

The driver has a history of being unsigned. Please see [urgent]get "appleSSD.sys" error when installing windows 7 through bootcamp .

Loner T, thanks for your response, my Mac is a MacBook retina early 2015, I've not found instructions on how to create a USB installer manually. Bootcamp is creating automatically a partition to copy the windows installer.

What I do not understand is that the installer was not having this problem in the 10.12.1, the system was breaking later when installing the drivers. in the 10.12.2 beta the installation breaks just after the installation starts after entering the license code.

I have a simillar problem trying to run the latest Windows 10 on a 15" Retina MacBook Pro (2012).

Yeah I know it's probably "old" already, but Windows used to run just fine, then I temporarily got rid of it because I needed more space on the Mac partition. Installed Windows again after the last macOS Sierra update. Windows installs and runs but when I try to install BootCamp drivers it pops up the BSOD with a KeyMagic.sys, Stop Code: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. and then restarts. Tried reinstalling Windows, redownloading drivers through BootCamp assistant. Also tried installing drivers one by one from the BootCamp folder. Everything seems to work except for the keyboard, trackpad and sound drivers. Any attempt at making it work results in the KeyMagic.sys related error. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
