Safari for iOS not updating bookmark favicon after deleting Website Data and History

Despite clearing History and Website Data, I am unable to get the new favicon from my website to appear as my bookmark icon.

I've deleted the bookmark, cleared History and Website Data, and power cycled the iPhone, but it always retains the old favicon.

I can add to the homescreen and it does use the new (correct) favicon for that app icon.

On new devices and simulators, the correct icon is displayed when a favorite/bookmark is added.

iOS 10.0.2

How do I clear the favicon cache?

Very frustrating!! I have the same issue on my iPad AIr 2 as well. I generated a whole new set of icons with realfavicongenerator.net.

As you say, adding to home screen uses the new icon. Adding to Favourites keeps showing an old icon that isn't referenced anywhere on my page!!

I have the same. Tried everything: deleting website data and history, restarts, unlink from iCloud, changing icon names, adding version mediastrings, etc.

It seems impossible to get rid of the old icon for favorite/bookmark. Indeed add to Homescreen does give the new icon, but favorite/bookmark not.

Does anyone have a solution on this yet?
I have the same problem as well. My new website favicon is updated everywhere, even on my Mac Safari bookmark icon, but my iPhone Safari bookmark icon simply retains the old favicon no matter what I do.

Same here on iOS 11. And I did not even have icons before, but still only the homescreen shows the newly added icons.
