can I delete the new recycle bin folder and desktop folder on my desktop

Since last nights update I now have two folders on my desktop all the time one labelled "recycle bin" the other labelled " Desktop - Ian's MacBook pro"

I have no idea why they are there or whether I can delete/remove/hide them?

Are they part of the Sierra update install or could they be related to the old parallels installation I have on my SSD as well?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

When you went through the setup, it asked if you wanted to use Desktop and Documents on iCloud. Since you agreed, it co those folders to iCloud. the Desktop folder is a function of that process. It makes a folder for each Mac you have signed into iCloud drive and that option enabled.

I have no idea what put the recycle bin there. I would imagine some sort of Windows software.
