Attach a caption to an existing Photo in Camera Roll

I have an iPad, 3rd Generation, IOS 9.3.5. I have a Family Photo in my Camera Roll that I would like to place the names of the Family Members according to their position in the Photo. Is that possible? If so, could you instruct me on how this is done?

Thanks Darrell

HI Bob,

THis is not an easy task for a Stroke Survivor. Got to have use of both hands. Twice I must of held the HOME and POWER Buttons too long because the iPad went into a reset. Thank God , my wife was here, she had the gentle touch and was able to get it to work. The photo is now in the Camera Roll and identified by a thumb nail size icon. Question, can you only do one screenshot at a time, because when she tried to do another screenshot, it did not flashlight?

You should be able to do multiple screenshots. I have just what you need to do screenshots one handed.

Go to settings> general> accessibility> assistive touch> on. This will give you a on-screen home button you can move anywhere on the screen.

To take a screenshot tap the onscreen home button. A menu will open. Tap device, tap more, tap screenshot. The menu won't be in the screenshot. If the menu stays on the screen tap the screen anywhere outside the menu.

Menu.

This is the first time I tried explaining the proceedure so if something isn't working just ask. I'll number the steps in case you need to refer to them.

1. Have the photo you want to crop on the screen, tap edit.

2. Tap the crop icon on the right side.

3. Using the corners move the boarder in to cut out what you don't want. Tap save.

4. After tapping save the photo enlarges to fit the screen and saves to Photos. Unfortunately I can't get it to post.

BBob,

Sorry about the previous message, too many mis-spelled words and fat fingering. My fingers must have typed faster than my mind was thinking. But I have an update. I set up the Assistive touch and it works perfectly. Thank you that recommendation. It will make navigating a bit easier for me. I also set it up on my son's iPhone 4S. I am ready for the cropping and text phase. If you get a chance to send it tonight, I will work on it first thing in the AM.

Update: have cropped the picture enough, so bodies still have heads. There was no SAVE button, just DONE. I populated the ADD to NOTES Box with the names, hit SAVE, but the contents did not appear below the cropped picture. Going to sack out, two nights of going to bed at or near1:00 and getting up at 6:30 is beginning to wear me out. If you come up with anything you want me to try, send it and I will try it in the AM

DO I feel like a fool. I apologize for that. I clearly misunderstood you. I thought the cropping exercise had an effect on trying on adding the names and I guess I was wrong. The one problem I had after inserting the names on Notes was I could note locate the SAVE.Please correct me if I am wrong, I think you said the original photo stays Photos, where the photo with the names remains in Notes.
