No more Mac App Store Update History?

Since the last upgrades following macOS 10.12.1, the Mac App Store does not list the updates any more that were installed in the last (30?) days. Is it a temporary glitch? Is it on my Macs only, or is it happening everywhere?

I found the Mac App Store settings in the system preferences, and the settings are (automatically?) set to automatically download and install applications. In this case I am very interested to see which apps were updated recently (and with which intended improvements) – just as I can do in the iOS App Store.

Any way to get the update history list back?

Hi! I have no idea why you can't open the plist file; I could open it with BBEdit but deleting the "Numbers" section was a problem so I used the advice of another poster and went looking for a dedicated plist editor (the one recommended was not in the App Store).

PList Editor was there and, like Xcode I presume, makes looking at and modifying plist files much easier.

If you can't edit the plist file then you can use the advice of other contributors here and:

1. Just delete the file and let it rebuild over time; or

2. Just do nothing and again the plist file will rebuild itself over time.

The problem is NOT serious, its more a cosmetic thing than a technical issue.

Hope that helps.

I found the item in the plist and deleted the entire Numbers section but it made no difference. I don't know why it worked for everyone else. So I just deleted the file, re-booted and Sierra made a new one which I assume will populate as new updates arrive. This did not happen until I upgraded to Sierra and only on my older Mac Air. My new iMac has the same software but shows the past 30 days screen just fine (but it's plist has no "Numbers" item in it... not sure why since I have Numbers and Pages, etc. on the iMac.

Juan,

Here are my two screen images:

User uploaded file

and now the second

User uploaded file

In the first screen image Plist Editor shows the contents of the whole plist file with 9 "items". Each item corresponds to an actual update of a particular piece of software (including macOS 10.12.1). Look through the items and you will find the one for "Numbers" (Item 2 in my case - see the second screen image). With Item 2 highlighted I just deleted the whole entry.

Initially I had syntax errors like yours when I tried to do this with BBEdit. Clearly I was not getting the whole of the "Numbers" entry and thus returning an XML syntax error.

Gosh, you learn a lot when you delve into this stuff.

Good night (it's 3:16 AM here in Australia, I need to get some sleep),
