4-Fingers Swipe between full-screen app and desktop not working like previously

Macbook Pro 13-inch, Late-2013. MacOS 10.12.1.

Something has changed with Sierra with the 3 or 4 fingers swipe between full-screen apps and desktop.

When I am in Pages (in full screen) and if I go back to my desktop, the menu is still the Pages one. Even if my Safari window is open, for example. It annoys me because when I start typing, thinking I am typing in the Safari address bar, I'm still typing in fact in Pages!

It was not like that in the previous version of OS X.

Is there a way to fix that?

OK. Well, if you swipe from a full-screen app to the desktop, the menu at the top should be the desktop one. This is how macOS is supposed to work, as far as I know. If the problem is about my settings, I would like to know what to change. I tried different settings, in vain. 😐

I would like to post a short clip here, but it seems that I can't (the button is not clickable).
