iPhone 7 won't connect to my Land Rover Freelander 2 bluetooth

Since upgrading to my iPhone 7 in September it won't connect to the integrated Bluetooth system in my Land Rover Freelander 2. When it searching it doesn't find the phone 90% of the time. When it does find the phone it won't connect. The system isn't at fault as my partners iPhone 6S connects fine, even when removed and re-added. My iPhone 7s Bluetooth works fine with two Bluetooth speakers in the house so it can't be an issue with the Bluetooth I don't think. I've tried resetting factory settings etc but still no luck. The iOS software on the phone is fully up to date too. Please can you help??

Is there already a bluetooth device with the same name stored in you vehicle?

If your new iPhone 7 has the same name as an iPhone that was previously synced with your vehicle, it won't work. For example, I had to remove my iPhone 6 from my car when I got an iPhone 7 because I restored my 7 with a backup from my 6, thus bringing the same name information over to the 7. So my car was trying to use Bluetooth information for my 6 to connect to my 7.

Try removing all other Bluetooth devices synced to your vehicle, restart the iPhone, and try again.
