com.apple.diskutility error 3.

Question

com.apple.diskutility error 3.

When I try to create a copy of a DVD I keep getting this error: com.apple.diskutility error 3 whenever I try to save the disk image. I have created other copies of similar DVDs just fine but for some reason only two of the DVDs I have give me this error.

I've been using the disk utility and saving them as the master cd/dvd images.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), macOS Sierra (10.12.1)

I was having the exact same problem and didn't know why, I solved it by copying all the contents of the dvd (like the VIDEO_TS folder for example) then went to disk utility and clicked on New image - Create new image from folder.

selected it and when it was done I just simply burned the image on a virgin dvd.
