iPhone 7 Keeps on freezing

Hi,

I've recently updated my iPhone to the latest OS version (10.1.1).

since then, the iPhone keeps on freezing whenever I try to open in phone setting the " Call Blocking & Identification".

I've tried to reset it a few times and it won't help.

Please help me.

Thank you,

David

Hi, I had the same issue and i SOLVED it (finally).... I used the Truecaller app which created a "SPAM" contact which contained a LOT of blocked numbers which was causing the " Call Blocking & Identification" setting to freeze. I couldn't just delete the contact because it got stuck every time I wanted to open it. SOOO i had to go to the Truecaller app and go to Settings>Top spammers> and disable the "Store as contact" option. Then I had to Deactivate my account by going to Settings>About>Deactivate account. After I did all this I was finally able to get into the Call blocking menu 🙂 --- I have a 7 Plus 256 GB

Hello David2580,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding after updating your iPhone, you've been experiencing freezing when trying to accessing Phone settings. You've done a great job trying to resolve this so far. I'm happy to help.

Since this issue began after updating, it's possible there's a conflict with the software or content within your iPhone. I recommend reinstalling the iOS with iTunes. Before trying this step it's important to make sure your valuable content has been backed up. Use the following link for back up assistance: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once you've successfully backed up, follow the steps below:
  1. Make sure that you're using the latest version of iTunes.
  2. If iTunes is already open, close it. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.
  3. While your device is connected, force restart it with these steps:
    • On an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding both buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
    • On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons at the same time. Don't release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding both buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.

  4. When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. Wait while iTunes downloads the software for your device. If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits recovery mode, let the download finish, then repeat these steps.

  5. After the Update or Restore completes, set up your device.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Have a wonderful day!

I have the same issue with my iPhone 7 Plus 256 gb in Gold. It freezes constantly in many apps. It happens every time I type something in multiple apps. I have done a soft reset and a factory data reset. It is still happening. I am very upset and disappointed because I have almost every single apple product they make (minus the watch because it has to be tethered). My iPhone is still under warranty, obviously. Should I replace it at the Apple store with a new one or is there going to be a fix? I am tech savvy and have done every and all fixes related to this issue that others have been asked to do and still not working properly. What is Apple doing and what should I do?
