Safari streams m3u files but does not play the music

When I stream a m3u file, safari starts buffering endlessly without playing the music. What is the problem?

Paldo from Switzerland

P.S I do not want safari to download the music to itunes, just want to listen from the browser on streaming

P.S I had to post this through a PC(that I hate)because through OSX I can't post any questions on this forum (fail to connect)! Why?

IMac G4, isight, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Hello Paolo,

In Quicktime preferences -> Streaming tab do you have "Enable Instant-On
selected if not do so.
Also make sure the Streaming speed: reflects your connection speed.

• Connecting to Apple Discussions,

In System Preferences-> Network->Show: <your connection method>->
TCP/IP Tab-> DNS Servers box,do you have numbers entered there?
If you do not contact your Internet service provider and get those #'s.

See if this webpage helps any, http://european.ch.orsn.net/faq.php
there aren't any for your country listed here DNS #

Keep us posted.
