Hi, I have late 2011 iMac and it doesn't seem to have Bluetooth hardware.
I want to connect an apple wireless keyboard and mouse so I brought a usb bluetooth dongle but I don't know how to pair the devices? is this even possible?
any feedback would be appreciated

Open System Preferences then select Bluetooth the click Turn Bluetooth On.

Thanks, but as I said in my first post I don't have bluetooth hardware on my imac. I'm trying to use a bluetooth dongle ?
You don't need a dongle.
Disconnect the dongle. That's what's causing a conflict.
Now click your Apple menu top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click System Preferences. When System Preferences opens click Bluetooth.
I Dont have bluetooth on my Mac, thats why I'm using a dongle but if you have any other suggestion on how I can use a wireless keyboard and mouse it would be appricated
All iMacs come with Bluetooth software and hardware pre installed.
