Sorry for the delay.
This is what I have from ecobee support.
It helped me but I would like to be connected to the 5GHz network instead of the 2.4.
Hope this helps the rest with the same problem.

Hello Bruno, thank you for contacting ecobee Support.I am really sorry for the inconvenience. If you are having Homekit issues, please follow these steps in order to correct the issue:*
VERIFY YOU ARE ON THE SAME 2.4GHZ BAND OF YOUR WIFI AS THE THERMOSTAT BEFORE STARTING PROCESSStep 1: Remove Thermostat from HomeKit
- Open your Apple Home app on the iPhone
- Tap and hold on the ecobee until new options appear
- Select Details, “Remove Accessory”, and the ecobee will be removed from your HomeKit network.
Step 2. On the Thermostat, make sure the thermostat is not paired to HomeKit
- Go to the menu on the thermostat
- Scroll down and press 'Settings' and then press 'Reset'
- If the thermostat is still connected, Press 'Disconnect from HomeKit'
After you have verified that the thermostat has been removed from Homekit, Reboot the thermostat by taking it off the wall and re-connecting it. Please also reboot the router and your iphone along with any other apple device such as ipad or Apple tv on the same icloud account.Step 3. Re-add your thermostat in Home app
- Open the iOS Home app
- Click on the Add accessory button
- Select your thermostat and follow the pairing steps
