didn't properly eject a USB drive???

Hi all.

I just accidentally unplugged a USB drive before ejecting it. I got the warning that said "USB drive not ejected properly, eject and unplug before closing". I have never done this before and the USB is fine, however I do not know if my computer may be damaged from doing this? I have a MacBook air and Mac OS Sierra.

MacBook Air, macOS Sierra (10.12.1)

This can damage the files on USB drive, not the computer (unless of course you are being rough with the computer when pulling the USB drive out). It is similar to safely removing a device while using Windows, if you are familiar with that...

To properly eject a USB/External drive, simply drag the icon of the drive to the Trash. It will change from the Trash icon to an Eject icon.

If your drive doesn't appear on your desktop, you can eject a drive by opening a new Finder window, then click the "Eject" symbol next to the drive on the sidebar.
