Hi! I just figured it out! You have to go in messages, go to the App Store sign next to the text box, and open game pigeon. There will be four small rectangles together in the bottom left corner. You press it and then you press the ont that says store with a plus sign. You click it and then go to the manage folder. You turn off game pigeon and then ta-da! It's deleted!(I already deleted it that's why you don't see it)

I had the same issue. I started to panick ! But I found out how to delete it and it really does delete the app. On the app store it shows the little cloud and the arrow (signifying the download reference) ,after so I'm sure. Basically what I did was that I went to my I messages. (Btw I have iOS 10.2) . Then clicked where you normally do to play game pigeon in there(the App Store icon on iMessages) Then at the very bottom left corner there will be something that looks like four circles. Click that and it will show you different icons including Game pigeon. Once you're there press down on the app til' it starts shacking and has an "X" on one of the corners so you can delete it(if you've ever deleted an app on the home screen then it's exactly that same process, just me being specific here ) . Then That's it! All gone. Hope this helps.

Use iMessage apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

You can add apps that you use the most to your Favorites so you have quick access to them in the app drawer. You can also reorder apps in the app drawer, remove the ones you don’t want, and more. Here’s how:

  1. Tap User uploaded file to open the app drawer. Then tap User uploaded file.
  2. Tap Edit in the upper-right corner to do the following:
    • To add an app to your Favorites, tap User uploaded file.
    • To remove an app, tap User uploaded file.
    • To reorder apps in the app drawer, touch and hold User uploaded file, then move the apps in the order that you want.
    • To hide an app, turn it off.
  3. Tap Done.

To delete an iMessage app, open the app drawer, tap User uploaded file, then swipe left over the app and tap Delete.

Best way is to use itunes

-connect your device to itunes on your computer

-make sure you are signed into your apple ID

-click on the small icon of your device which usually shows under the play button in itunes

-when the pane on the left side appears, click apps with shows under summary

-search for your app name in question

-it should find it and have remove to the right

-click remove and remove will change to "will remove"

-click apply at bottom right of itunes

-let process run and complete

-once done, go to the app store on the device and you will notice the cloud is there instead of a grayed out install

-you can now re-download and icon will re-appear or leave it alone if the main reason was to delete anyways

Hope this helps, enjoy

Hi I'm here to help just in case ya are still having a problem deleting the app called game pigeon. Go to any message that contains this app (anyone ya have played game with), next click on game as if ya are going to play. A drop down window will open, this will show the apps in messenger. Hold down on game pigeon until all apps are bouncing, now just click x to delete, remove, make gone. Hope everyone will see this and rid themselves of this annoying self updating app once and for all! Good luck.....

The app is embedded within iMessage. You can view it by opening iMessage, clicking the logo near the text field that looks like the App Store logo and swiping left or right to view what's installed within iMessage. You can view the settings on gamepidegon and everything else in iMessage, if you choose to uninstall it you'd also have to do it within iMessage.

I found a solution! Have somebody send you a request to play a game from the game pigeon app... once they have sent it to you click to play and a screen will come up with different things on it and toggles. Find the one that says Game Pigeon and make sure the toggle is green... then you should be able to play and send requests from Game Pigeon👍-1F3FD;

Greetings Toreck!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! That is a great question you have about removing an app. Check out this article to Check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch . Specifically:

Use your iOS device to check its storage

Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage.

You'll see a list of your apps, and how much storage each one uses. For more information about its usage, tap the app from the list. Cached data and temporary data might not be counted as usage.

User uploaded file

Depending on the app, you might be able to delete some of its content, or delete the app and all of its content. If your device is almost full and iOS can't free up space on your device, you might get a Storage Almost Full alert. If you see this alert you'll need to remove some less-used content yourself.

This will allow you to see the app and be able to delete it from here as well.

Cheers!
