iPhone 7 Plus display dingier than iPhone 6 Plus display

I just upgraded from an iPhone 6 Plus to an iPhone 7 Plus. The first thing I noticed was that the display on the iPhone 7 Plus seems to be "dingier" than that of the iPhone 6 Plus. It's not as bright for the same setting. At maximum setting the iPhone 6 Plus is noticeably brighter, and whiter.

I thought the iPhone 7 Plus was supposed to be brighter than the iPhone 6 Plus. Is there something wrong with my new iPhone do you think?

All the settings are, I believe, the same. I restored from a backup of my iPhone 6 Plus I saved in iTunes this morning.

They came back to me after examining my photos and are saying that the color spectrum is different on the iPhone 7 Plus and after examining the photos they see nothing abnormal with either the colors or the brightness.

The bottom line is that Apple are not helping and have shown no willingness to help. I just sent off an email to Tim Cook. I hear that sometimes help. We'll see.

I did already try to exchange the iPhone once at an Apple service center. They were very nice there, and they could see the problem I talked about, but when we tried to change phones the new replacement phone was no better. So I think this is a basic problem with all iPhone 7 Plus devices.

I'm not really seeing the magenta issue you mention. In any case, it was the same on this phone and on the replacement phone, so I think it's the same with all iPhone 7 Plus phones.

I just talked to my carrier. If I don't get help from Tim Cook or possibly the consumer affairs agency I'm thinking of maybe just selling the iPhone 7 Plus to a 3rd party and getting a different phone from the carrier. Maybe I won't lose that much that way. Currently I get a carrier discount per month for the device. The discount would still apply after I sell the phone and get a replacement phone.

Unless Apple helps me though I think this will have been the last iOS device I ever buy.

I think it's more than a yellowish tone. I think they are also less bright.

Anyway, at https://www.apple.com/iphone-7/ it says, "...what you see will be noticeably more brilliant and vibrant." That is obviously not true. What we see is dingier and dimmer.

Again, I'm not saying the display is bad, per se, but it is worse than the iPhone 6 Plus and not brighter, more brilliant and vibrant as advertised.

For Apple Support to tell me it really is but we just can't see it makes no sense.

If Apple refuses to help me resolve this, I guess I'll have to decide what to do based on "practical loss" (e.g. if I get rid of the iPhone 7 Plus and go Android or something) vs "the principle of the thing."

I will say, though, that while I was thinking of upgrading my three year old MacBook Pro, I don't feel like giving more money to Apple anymore until they resolve this. I don't like it when a company advertises something that isn't true.

New information:

The display model of the iPhone 7 Plus at the Yodobashi Camera in Hachioji, Tokyo today was obviously brighter and whiter than the one I have. The sales clerk even remarked on it.

Apple Support is not being straightforward with me. I now know it must be possible to get one with a display that's better than mine.

So I'm going to pursue my claim with Apple, and insist they exchange - 10, 20, 100, 500 or more times or however many times it takes until I get one that is better.
