iPhone 7 Plus Matte Black Paint Chipped

I have been using iPhone 7 Plus Matt Black for about one month with fully covered by a TPU casing and full screen tempered glass most of the time. I just open the casing once a week to wipe the dust off from the phone. Until yesterday when I take off the casing, and notice there is something at the edge of the phone body next to UP Volume button. At first I thought it just the dust. I try to wipe it using microfibre cloth as usual. Until I look closely it is the metal part of the body. It seems that the black anodised paint had been chipped off from the phone body. I am really disappointed with what happen to the phone because I was using it very careful.

I have chat with Apple Customer Support and it is not covered under warranty since it is under cosmetic damage. Seems that the anodised paint quality on iPhone 7 is same as what is on iPhone 5. The iPhone 7 body paint will chipped at anytime regardless you are using it very careful. Just to share with you guys 😉User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

I had this issue too and remedied it with black acrylic paint that costs $5 at Michael's.It's not perfect, but made the chipped paint spots on my 7+ matte black less of an eye sore such as it's not the first thing notice when glancing at the area of the phone unless you really try to notice (and nobody but me notices). If you mess up with the paint you can scratch it off easily with no residue or evidence left on the phone. I also got a very fine paint brush at Michael's, one small enough to precisely paint the area that's chipped in the photos.

Good luck.

i notice 6 and 6S near volume button the edge down the button is shiny surface, that could be the paint unable to stick properly and comes off more easily than any other surface

if you notice, the paint comes off could be actually the edge inside that surrounding the button

Apple should have aware on this and not repeating same mistake in iPhone 5 again and again
