iPhone 7 Plus Matte Black Paint Chipped

I have been using iPhone 7 Plus Matt Black for about one month with fully covered by a TPU casing and full screen tempered glass most of the time. I just open the casing once a week to wipe the dust off from the phone. Until yesterday when I take off the casing, and notice there is something at the edge of the phone body next to UP Volume button. At first I thought it just the dust. I try to wipe it using microfibre cloth as usual. Until I look closely it is the metal part of the body. It seems that the black anodised paint had been chipped off from the phone body. I am really disappointed with what happen to the phone because I was using it very careful.

I have chat with Apple Customer Support and it is not covered under warranty since it is under cosmetic damage. Seems that the anodised paint quality on iPhone 7 is same as what is on iPhone 5. The iPhone 7 body paint will chipped at anytime regardless you are using it very careful. Just to share with you guys 😉User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

This is similar to the issues with the black iphone 5 when it first debutted and it seem like not alot has improved since besides the aesthetic beauty. Even the user interface is in a mess.

But all i can say it, enjoy the phone despite the imperfections. Don't forget that its meant to be a functional device to serve us. When it comes mass produced products, sometimes you get lucky, some times you don't.

I have this issue on my matte black too. I noticed it on my mute switch, 2 small dots that I initially thought was dust. But after cleaning it off I realized that it's the paint chipping off. So the next day I went down to my locals service center and try to make a warranty claim. But the staff said that cosmetic damages are not under warranty. So I ended up selling my iPhone 7 and got a silver one and after another month I never notice any sort of paint chipping.

I have the same issue! Not near the edges or buttons but on the back of the phone. There's one tiny spot smack dab in between the Apple logo and the edge of the device. I don't know how this happened given I use a lint roller on the pocket I keep the phone in and I have a screen protector and TPU case on, also I've never dropped it. I first thought this was dust on the device but realized it's not. it bothers me a 3/10, I try not to make a big deal out of anything that's not a least a 5/10 on the s**t that bugs me scale. I thought about getting a new one and selling the current but at this point I think it could happen to the new one too.
