Colors distorted after sleep (macOS Sierra)

Hi all,

I'm currently on macOS Sierra (10.12.2 bèta (16C41b)) on a Macbook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) even though I've opted out of the bèta program, but that isn't the issue here 😉

Whenever I open my l laptop and get out of 'standby mode' my colors are distorted. There are pink/purple lines all over my screen. It is not a hardware issue I believe, because when I scroll the distorted colours move along with it. I'll try and make a picture of it but it dissappears most of the time after 5-10 seconds.

Anyone else having this issue and/or knows how to resolve this?

Kind regards,

Robin.

This is not a hardware issue, this is a software issue that came with OSX Sierra. This is highly frustrating and disappointing. I am on a MacPro (2013) 12-core, 64GB, Dual D500, 1TB - way too much cost to be dealing with these software issues.

So far, no resolution from Apple. I was hoping the latest update to 10.12.14 would address this. It didn't.

This is the screen I get for:

  1. Boot and unlocking the drive encryption and initial login. After you pass that, then the image returns to normal no issues.
  2. When waking up from sleep. Once logged back in, the image returns to normal.

I can't believe we are still discussing this. I have this problem for over a year now, rolling over 3 major releases of Mac OS X until current Sierra. Yes, I had to use Migration Assistant to migrate my data, I don't want to re-install OS all the time, case even Windows handles migration well now.

Apple, please, fix my issue with distracted colours on login window!

BTW, when I made a screenshot of login screen and look at resulting file under my login - I seen distractions. Something to do with default colour profile (???) which is applied to login?

I am also having this issue were my screen is all distorted when I open it while it was on sleep mode. At first I didn't put too much mind to it because I thought it was time for a new laptop, but luckily I came across this thread. Its been really freaking me out and I really enjoy my current laptop--its a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 15). I really hope that Apple fix this issue sooner than later.

Hi All. How’s it been with your issues on your screens. Since the update 10.13.2 So far I have not experienced the static screen.

However, I still see this anomaly from time to time.

But so far the garbled screen has been gone. Hopefully for good. Tomorrow at work I’ll find out if my screen goes haywire on an LCD projector.
