My iPhone7 didn't come with AirPods

When I bought my iPhone7 it came with the wired earbuds and a lightning adapter. Now I see iPhone7s DO come with $159 AirPods included. I feel like I was RIPPED OFF for being an early adopter. 😠

Is there a coupon I can request for a free pair of AirPods?

As stated on Apple's web site - https://www.apple.com/iphone-7/specs/

In the box

  • iPhone with iOS 10
  • EarPods with Lightning Connector
  • Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter
  • Lightning to USB Cable
  • USB Power Adapter
  • Documentation

Airpods are a $159 accessory - http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MMEF2/airpods

So, the question is where did you see that any retail new iPhone 7 or 7+ was shipping with an expensive accessory included, as it was not Apple's web site.

My friend just purchased a red iPhone 7s and when it shipped, it came with AIRpods. Not the typical EARpods. Literally standing here looking at it.

So who was the retailer? And what was the price of the package deal?

Simply saying someone got an Apple iPhone 7 and Airpods is misleading in the context of this thread.

Did they, or did they not purchase this package from Apple directly? And did they or did they not pay nothing more than the advertised retail iPhone 7 Red price? Were the AirPods included in the box with the iPhone? Or did it only have the regular lightening cable earpods in the box with the iPhone?

The contention of the OP and others in this thread is that AirPods are being included, by Apple, as default, no additional fee, standard accessories with iPhones.
