Running El Capitan 10.11.6 and there is no option for FAT16 vs FAT32...only MS-DOS. When I format MS-DOS on my .5GB flashdrive I "Get Info" and it tells me its FAT16...I need FAT32. What's the deal apple???
Anyone have a solution...why why why does apple try to dumb down these options to the point of idiocy??? How about a "Advanced" button....????
Painful...wasted an hour of my time already.
I've tried every option, and Get Info alway comes up FAT16. I just tried the EXFAT and sony device does not recognize USB.
Well, 99.9% of flash drives are sold formatted as FAT32 so if you have a spare $5-$10 you could try that.
Either a device supports ExFAT or it doesn't. I thought we were beyond that.
If over 2GB it will format as FAT32, under and you can choose, but if less than 0.5GB you'll get 16, no choices there.
So, if you have a 4GB flash drive or larger you should be fine.
Right there where you see FAT32...I'll try again now...what OS are you running?
I'm on Sierra at the moment but it shouldn't matter.
