Hotmail. Cannot connect to server.

Recently haven't been able to receive or send mail through my hotmail Account. It says it cannot connect to the server as if I have no internet. But I can log in and check mail through my browser. It's frustrating when I am out of country And depend on my personal accounts.

Your Hotmail account has been upgraded to the new sync protocol, depending on which email client you're using you'll either have to delete the account & recreate it or delete & recreate the account using imap/smtp server settings.


Incoming Server name:

imap-mail.outlook.com

Port: 993

Encryption method: SSL

Outgoing Server name:

smtp-mail.outlook.com

Port: 587

Encryption method: SSL
