Ew update for organizing mail is confusing

I understand that you wanted a more organized way of following email conversations, but you missed it by a mile. It takes both my husband and I longer to answer email threads because we have to decipher them first. Which part of the email was answered, which is the latest version of the email thread answered, is the latest answer on the top or bottom or even in the middle of the thread. Why am I seeing my reply 4 different times in the thread.

UGh. Please, give me back my old mail version.

Hi bigalwood,

I understand that you have some concerns about how iOS 10 handles Mail threads. I know it's important to be able to efficiently read your Mail, so I'm happy to help.

With iOS 10 Mail Threading, an email thread combines all of the responses from multiple recipients in a group email. The most recent message is displayed at the bottom of the thread, but you can check out the advice in this article to adjust those settings:

Organize group emails

An email thread combines all of the responses from multiple recipients in a group email.

Tap User uploaded file to see a preview of the responses to the thread in the Inbox. Tap a response to open the email thread.

You can sort responses in your thread by most recent and keep the thread of emails together, even if they’re in different mailboxes. Just go to Settings > Mail > Threading. Then choose how you want to organize your threads:

  • Organize by Thread: Turn on to see all responses to an email combined in one thread. Turn off to see responses as individual emails.
  • Most Recent Message on Top: Turn on to see the most recent response to an email at the top of the message thread.
  • Complete Threads: Turn on to see all of your conversations in a thread together, including emails that are in different mailboxes and sent emails.
