Suggestion regarding the Spam iCal adverts masquerading as invites

I have started receiving these, as so many folk worldwide have. I have used the workaround and managed to delete the invites without notifying the perpetrator.

My suggestion, since Apple Support can be hard to get hold of, is to use Twitter to @applesupport to express the concern over the problem. https://twitter.com/AppleSupport is their twitter account.

I apologise if this post is out of scope. The problem is becoming so widespread there is a danger of its flooding these forums in iCloud and iCal threads.

Apple Support has responded on Twitter and is opening a case.

The function (in a slightly roundabout manner) already exists, you can direct the notifications to email and not to the Calendar, once in email they can be flagged like any other, how to send them to Email instead of Calendar has been posted here and in other threads so often I can recite it from memory. I assume what you want is one button that will do it all?

The first paragraph says it all. There are tons of articles being floated daily all saying the same basic thing. If Apple is still waiting for screenshots before implementing a fix this is a hopeless situation. More proof isn't needed IMO. We just need a fix and we need it now. I've actually seen reports of this problem going back to last summer, so what is the holdup Apple?

Because the thread has now become so long that the long tail has lost any real purpose. The longer threads get the greater the likelihood that folk think this is Apple's Back Door. You have loads of forum points, so you absolutely must be the person to open that door 😝😁

I wonder how soon someone will invoke Godwin's Law!

As I am not an Apple Employee (like the moderators) I can do nothing but agree that this thread is overlong and far too contentious.

I earned all these points by correctly answering questions posed by OP's, 5 and 10 at a time.

Godwin's Law transgressions lead to post removal, beware.

OK, now I want to know how to stop receiving all the responses to this question! There used to be a place to "subscribe" to a posting but I can't seem to find it and have now received the two dozen responses.

I did the workaround on sending the calendar events to my email. Although I did initially delete a spam event, thus notifying the spammer my mail is active, too date I've not received anything else.
