Hello All
i have cloned my 500GB drive to a 1TB using Acronis True image (yup, on a PC)
I now have a 1TB drive that shows only 500GB, when i go to Disk Utility it won't let me extend nor shrink the volume.
Any advice?

You should have partitioned the drive before you cloned the other, smaller drive. You can try using Disk Utility to create another partition in the free space, but if you are unable to do that, then you will need to remove the partition then re-partition the drive into two volumes or don't clone the smaller drive. Instead, do a mass transfer using a utility like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper!.

I was afraid you might say that....
But i guess thats my last resort
Any suggestions about the process? can Carbon Copy inflate the partition while its cloning to the new bigger size? or will i have to deal with it later?

I have uses SuperDuper without problems but that app does not clone the Recovery partition.
With SD it erase the entire disk as part of the clone when you specify the root disk (as opposed to a partition)
CCC will clone both the OS and Recovery partition.
What does Disk Utility say about the whole drive and cloned partition?
A screen shot would be nice.
Based on what is listed near the bottom right it seems you may have to reclone
