Photos 2.0 crashes when buying a photobook

Photos 2.0 continuosly crashes while I buy a photobook. Creating the photobook worked fine but I cannot buy it, it will crash at approximately 40-60%.

I already tried to repair the Photolibrary, used Preview and did all the same also in secure mode.

It might not even be a problem particular to the book but of the connection to the Print Products Store. There have been reports of Photos crashing when ordering calendars as well.

The format error message always occurs in a thread starting with a network connection request:

Ive also spent hours on the phone with Apple. Once they realise its not something simple, they're not really interested.

They should be interested in getting some orders for books and calendars in the weeks before Christmas!

Since Friday evening I was experiencing the same. The problem may be a time out from the receiving server.

Check your upload speed. In my case it was super slow (< 150 kb/s). That seems to cause a time out from the server. I tried it several times and with a lightning upload speed of 200 kb/s I was successful.

Apple support is working on thet issue.

My actual upload speed (measured with speedtest.net) is > 150 Mbps.

Another possibility is deleting pages, to reduce size (not really an option).

Apple rushed the 10.12.2 update out. You can now install the official update from the update section of the AppStore. The release notes confirm the bug fix for print products 🙂 And many more interesting bug fixes.

I'm still testing the new release with respect to the other annoying bug - that batch changing titles and descriptions is changing all photos in the album than the selection. That seems to be even worse now.

we still have to be very careful when batch changing.
