Lockscreen?

One thing that put me off using Android Pay was that you had to unlock your phone every time you wanted to use it even if you weren't going to use AP you still had to unlock your phone every time you wanted to access its content.

Is it the same with Apple Pay?

Thanks

Hi

With Touch ID enabled, to pay using Apple Pay with your iPhone, you can:

Present your iPhone to the contactless reader with your finger resting on the Touch ID sensor / Home button.

  • Your default card will be used automatically.

When you want to use a different card than your default card:

  • Present your iPhone to the reader without resting your finger on Touch ID.
  • When your default card is shown: tap on it > tap on the card that you want to use > rest your finger on Touch ID sensor / Home button to pay.

Prepare your iPhone in advance (including when you wish to use a different card for any given transaction):

  • Double-click the Home button from the Lock screen (or open Wallet if you do not have that shortcut method enabled) > select your preferred card > place your finger on the Touch ID sensor until you see "Hold Near Reader to Pay"
    • To enable the double-click shortcut, turn on the setting in Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay.
  • You then have 60 seconds to pay using that card by holding the top of your iPhone near the contactless reader.
  • During this time, you do not need to keep your finger on the Touch ID sensor or to place it there again.
