How to get rid of Gray Haze Screen

I use a 2010 Mac mini and recently updated to macOS Sierra (processor speed 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, memory 8 GB). When I turn it on and start using it, immediately there is a grayish haze over the entire screen. I've tested the monitor and it is not the monitor. I've started up in safe mode and the haze is gone. Once I'm in safe mode, I restart immediately without pressing any keys during startup, and the haze is back. What is causing this haze? How do I turn it off or get rid of it?

If the Mini has a second standard-user account you test to see if adding or removing

software items can replicate the condition; and if it exists in an all-new user account

without third party extensions or additional applications, utilities, etc. that would be

a cause for wonder. Maybe it is a hardware situation made worse by various software

drivers; or an unstable mix of software by several makers that aren't playing together.

Do you have a backup in Time Machine from before this issue appeared? Or a full

system clone from an earlier build; these can be helpful for troubleshooting issues.

Also, if you have an older system installed on a bootable hard drive, it may be helpful

to test & see if the later system may be contributing to the problem. Could be the

graphics processor or other sub-systems may not like the later macOS/X.

Sorry to not have a specific answer to try.

Good luck in any event...! 🙂
