iTunes error 8392

It's interesting that many people are unable up update their apps and get an Unknown Error 8392, but the Apple Services System Status shows all green. This has been happening to me on and off for at least a month. In the past I could update on iOS but not the Mac. Now I can't update on either. I'm running macOS Sierra 10.12.1, iOS 10.1.1, and iTunes 12.5.2.17.

I am having the same problem. New Apps download fine, but clicking Update does not work. I have tried this on my iPhone, iPad and on my Macbook. I have tried multiple WiFi sources and on the iPhone I tried LTE. All give the same results when clicking Update. Resetting the devices does not work. Resetting the network settings does not work.

I too looked at the Apple system status screen (https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/) and everything is green. This was the only post that made me realize it is probably not me. Hopefully we will have a resolution overnight and be able to update tomorrow.

Thank you for posting this.

I was finally able to get the updates done by selecting each app one at a time and clicking on update. Some apps still gave me the 8392 error, but as I worked my way through the apps and retried the ones that gave me the error I was able to get them updated. As a test I also deleted one app and then I was able to download it without a problem. I wish Apple would tell us what is going on when things like this happen. I know Apple does not participate here, but I have to believe they monitor the problems and issues that are discussed here.

Interesting that I spent an hour on the phone last night Apple Support , which for the very first time every was very disappointing. The support tech had not idea about this error. I pointed him to the Apple Forum on the topic. Let me cut to today. I decided to reinstall ITunes. I didn't uninstall, just reinstalled and wonders of all wonders, the apps started to update. The process did stop but clicking update started it again. The error did pop up but went away and all 50 apps updated. So try reinstalling ITunes and see if that helps you too.
