If the Mail application is truly missing from your iPhone running iOS 10 (as opposed to hiding in a folder), you may re-download the application from the App Store.

Icon not in a folder. Under "settings" my iPhone only lists "contacts" while my iPad and wife's iPhone lists "Mail, contacts, calendars". I looked in the App Store and see many third-party email apps, but could not ID the one that comes from Apple with the phone. What is the correct name for the email app that comes with an iPhone so I can narrow the search?
By the way, as I recall, Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars disappeared with the introduction of iOS 10. Since that time, each has its own settings.
Lost access to email. Email icon disappeared
