Where is Safari web data stored?

Where is Safari web data stored?

I know you can use the Manage Website Data... button to view and delete data, but I'd really like to know where that information is stored. In other words, what file(s) contain the data?

Specifically, Safari 10 and Mac OS 10.12.1 on a MBA.

Does anyone know?

Safari website data is saved in the hidden library on your mac.

To access safari's website data:

Open finder
Hold down option while clicking go in the finder bar
Click on library

You will now see the safari folder.

Inside the safari folder is a folder labeled "LocalStorage".

Local storage is where you will find what you need.
