Multi Picture printing

What I greatly miss in MAC OS is a simple way to print more than one picture on a page, let's say 2, 4, 6 or thumbnails.

On Windows machines, from XP on, one simply selects a (vast) number of pictures in a folder, then select Print...

A menu appears where you can tell the printer (any printer) what number of picures you want per page.

You will be informed how many pages will be needed for your selection. Exactly the way you want it, very intuitive: like Apple could have invented it.

As simple as that.

It is hard to believe that MAC OS does not have this ability, but I am not able to find it.

When I select a number of pictures in a Mac OS folder I can Select Print, (but not Print...). Each picture will be printed separatly on one page.

@ Hiroto: option-command-P does not give any respons.

@VikingOSX: I tried all your recommendations (save mode, Library) no success.

I will try the Apple route (without any confidence).

On a Dutch forum it is recommended to use the Apple Photo app.

Very new is that the majority of our entries in his discussion disappeared.

So far, thank you very much!

There are times when I cannot see the last thread in a post, even if it is mine, and only can view it in a different browser (Safari or Firefox), when signed out of the community. I have reported this sporadic, and vexing issue to the Apple hosts — until I am cyanotic with frustration.

Good luck on a successful n-up printing solution.

Hi JanSr. One option is to use another native OS X app, MakePDF. From Finder press the Shift+Command+G keys and type or copy/paste "/System/Library/Image Capture/Automatic Tasks/MakePDF”. Press the Enter key or click Go.

User uploaded file

Hold down the Command key and drag MakePDF to the Finder window’s toolbar until a plus cursor displays and release. This creates an alias to the app.

User uploaded file

Navigate to the folder of images you want to print. If printing them all, drag the folder onto the MakePDF alias and release.

If selecting images individually, hold down the Shift+Command keys and select files by clicking on them. Drag the selected files onto the MakePDF alias and release.

User uploaded file

The app will open and the photos will populate the page using the last used settings. From the Layout menu you can select the size of the photos either to fit in or crop to a particular size.

You can also create and save a custom layout by selecting the New Layout... menu item.

Once satisfied with the layout you can either send to a printer for printing or save as a PDF.

Tested with OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
