Apple watch screen has become dim.

I have noticed that my Apple Watch 1st edition has become very dim to where I can't see the time in the daylight. I went into a Target store the other day and saw on display the new Apple Watch as well as the 1st edition. When looking at the screen on the both of them, they are much brighter than my screen has become. I have adjusted it to its fullest brightness but it still is very dim compared to new watches. I doubt that there is anything I can do about it and to repair it would cost as much as a new version 1 watch. Make sure you get Apple care in case things like this happen. I didn't as I expected an Apple product to be of good enough quality. I haven't damaged the watch in any way, the screen has just become very dim.

Hi

When comparing watches, keep in mind that the display on Apple Watch Series 2 is twice as bright as the display on Apple Watch (1st generation).

If the screen on your watch is dimmer than it should be, the following steps may help:

If you have not yet done so, update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:

Close the Watch app on your iPhone and restart both devices:

Unpair and re-pair your watch:

If the issue persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider to arrange for your watch to be inspected and to establish your available service options, likely timescales and cost:

Out-of-warranty repair service prices vary, depending on your Apple Watch model:
