touch bar zoom - How to deactivate

Unfortunately this solution didn't work for me. I hope there will be a fix with 10.12.3. Is there no other way to disable it? Some Shell script magic or delete some property Files? I would be very happy for further advice.

Try what DKSG suggested again. you have to either click and hold on the actual system preference icon or right click (two finger click on touchpad). You'll then see a list version of all the sub components. You click 'Accessibility' in this list, then follow to zoom and it will be there. This is the only way it will show up! If you go to the apple icon or just click the system preference icon, it will not show up!

Thank you for your advice, but in my case it really doesn't work. I thought it could by a language issue. So I go on and changed the default language of my system from german to english. Reboot ... and 100 Points! The solution works as described, as long the system is in english.

Great thanks, this worked for me (although moving up the list to Accessibility is a pain, being so many menu items in Settings). I thought I was going mad, the touch bar zoom feature is awful, how does it help??? I've no idea how it became enabled, probably wise to remove this feature altogether Apple!

It is a bug in the macOS Sierra (10.12.2). You will need to click and hold on the "System Preferences" icon found in the dock, then select "Accessibility", then select the "Zoom" tab. This is the only way I can constantly ensure the "Enable Touchbar Zoom" checkbox will show up.

Apparently selecting the "System Preferences" from the top left "Apple" icon did worked, but I only managed to make it work once and it never did anymore.
