EExactly! And if you haven't noticed yet, Autoplay feature is gone too. Ridiculous!
I have both an iPhone 7+ and an iPad air 2. I only had the problem on my iPad but I fixed it. How do you upload music and videos to your device? The process I use is: 1) add music (m4a format) or movies (mostly mp4 format, a few m4v format) to iTunes. 2) create playlist 3) drag/move movies to a movie only playlist (mine is named "Medly") 3) drag/move music files to other playlists (organize by genre, etc) 4) connect iPhone or iPad with iTunes 5) sync with iPhone and iPad (both running iOS 10.2). There are default playlist named music and movies which your music and movies get copied to sometime after the syncing process. You can't move files from your playlist to "music" or "movies". iTunes does it for you. To fix the missing "Home Videos" library problem, try deleting a couple of movie files from iTunes. Sync your device. Add the movie files back into iTunes. Move the movie file into your videos only playlist. Connect and sync your device. If that doesn't work, try resetting (deletes settings and data) your device, restore from backup and then sync. If all that doesn't work, you could try reverting back to iOS 10.11 but do that only as a last resort because you can't do a restore from backup (you can't use a 10.2 backup to restore to an older version of iOS).
TV shows appear in "Movies" category, which is okay. But an episode I purchased via iTunes won't play. A video file I converted myself to .m4v will play.
You da man!!!
This worked fine for me.....thanks alot!
