I was playing a game when all of a sudden my ipad claimed I had to sign into my apple account, which I tried but it kept saying my password was wrong and I know it wasn't. So I went on my computer and changed my password but now the screen on my ipad says "it may take a few minutes to activate your ipad" and it's been over 30 minutes. HeLp

I tried the solution listed above - basically shutting down the ipad and restarting. this did not resolve the problem. I am still stuck at "Your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable.
Hi. Try restarting by holding the Sleep and Home buttons until the Apple appears. This may take about 15 seconds, so get a good grip. See if things go more smoothly after.
Thank you so much. I just saw your reply and that is what customer service had me do last night. I also had to upgrade my itunes. Today is a good day. Thank you for your help and Happy Holidays...
customer service had me push in the button on the front of the ipad and the power button at the same time. That resolved my problem, plus I had to update my itunes.....good luck...Pam
Thanks, it was plugging in the iPad to the laptop and updating iTunes that did it. :-)
I did this now it says activation lock and wants my apple id
my ipad is saying it may take a few minutes to activate your ipad
