com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service quit unexpectedly
why do i keep getting a problem report saying com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service quit unexpectedly.
MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.1)
Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I executed the following commands, and haven't seen the problem for five minutes. I had been seeing it every 10 seconds. Sadly, I cannot say which one had the desired effect.
chris:LaunchAgents root# launchctl remove /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service.plist
chris:LaunchAgents root# launchctl remove /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service
chris:LaunchAgents root# launchctl remove /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing
chris:LaunchAgents root# launchctl remove com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service
chris:LaunchAgents root# launchctl remove com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing
I have the same and it appears that everyone is experiencing this so, it makes one wonder why don't Apple make a statement about it and let us know what is going on?

Because it's not universal.
I have three machines running 10.12.2 and have not seen this issue on any of them.
"com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service is onverwacht gestopt" Belgium, macOS Sierra version 10.12.1 (16B2555). It seems I'm not alone having this problem...
Well, looking on the internet it appears to be widespread today and there are at least three people from different countries reporting the same issue. I cleared my cache on Safari although, the same problem appeared when I was using Firefox as well so, I figured that it was coming up automatically when I was on any website for any length of time. I did indexing as well and it's stopped now. So, maybe it's been fixed by Apple or by what I did.
I didn't do anything, it stopped for a while now. I see there's an update (10.12.2) available, let's install that one. ;-)
It's not about Safari quitting, rather about the Safari Safe Browsing facility quitting. The issue may have passed now or, what I did to clear it, which was, cleared my cache in Safari history and indexed my mac and it's fine now.
Although 10.12.3 is being beta tested 10.12.2 is not in the i-store and not available from "software updates" on "about this Mac" at present in the UK.
Same here. Started yesterday.
In the error report details, I always find this:
Crashed Thread: 1 Dispatch queue: com.apple.SafeBrowsing.Backend.Google.DatabaseUpdater
shut down all apps, restarted. no change.
the error message even pops up when safari is not started!
I googled and tried to turn off warnings for fraudulent websites in preferences. no change.
Have you tried what I did, which was to clear Safari browser cache (go to History on tool bar of Safari and then click on bottom menu item "Clear History" and then index your Mac?
Applying the suggested "Remove All" from "Safari : Preferences -> Privacy -> Manage Website data" has fixed it for me. Thanks for the suggestion.
Just started today , makes Safari unusable. Bug after bug after bug .....ggggrrrrrr
Remove All suggestion does not work for me. I tried clearing history and cookies but no joy.
