ON my ipad, when wifi on, the ios 10.2 tv app does not show any home videos I synced from itunes. I have to turn wifi off (offline) to watch them! The tv app is more like a buggy beta version. Apple, what are you doing!

Another frustrated user here. I upgraded to 10.2 last week before a trans-Atlantic flight with my wife and four-year-old son. Where the Videos app had played his TV episodes in the past with no problem (on both my old iPhone 3G and my newer SE), on TV I could never get past the screen that showed icons for particular shows, despite my restarting the phone, force-quitting the TV app, etc. There was no in-flight wifi. The only thing that saved the flight was that I had a backup of the episodes on a wireless thumb drive and could stream to the phone from it. Thing is, if someone downloads episodes, movies, wathever onto a iPhone/iPad, one shouldn't need a wireless connection. It's my experience, though, that sometimes TV will show downloaded content offline (after being connected to a network), that possibility declines with the passage of time. Two hours or so later, if I want to open the same content, I sometimes have to reconnect to a wireless network. What's the point, otherwise, of saving things? This seems like another sign of declining quality control, where things that once worked fine become inexplicably broken.

Agree 100 percent. TV App will not work offline. Ridiculously poor performance. I only can watch downloaded content when I am on WiFi.

Samesies, stored a bunch of m4v as 'home videos' to watch on flight but TV App won't open without network connection. I, spent hours preparing the videos, very disappointed.

I meant offline or online, doesn't matter. Beh it's early!

Also, don't turn on internet while in the app thereafter and/or pressing on 'library' to fall back into the 'main screen'

I tried this, the movie played for about 30 seconds, then a pop up stating that no wifi or cellular connection could be found, then the player crashed.

No way to get back the old Videos App.

Apple really scrawd the pooch on this one!

On a recent flight, TV would not work in offline and would not work while connected to gogo. Restarted iPad several times - nothing worked. This is ridiculous Apple.
