Facebook Popups in lower left-hand screen of MacBook Pro OS Sierra

I can not get the pop-up notifications on Facebook to turn off. They appear in the lower left-hand side of my screen. I have turned off all notifications for Facebook through Facebook as well as through safari. It is incredibly annoying and won't stop! I get a lot of notifications though Facebook! Is there a way to make it stop??! Every post tells me to go through Facebook and Safari and change the preference to "NONE" on notifications, I have done that! I have attached a picture of what I am seeing - its not the banner in the top right, those are off.

Sorry - I saw that after I sent. You are on the FB site when these popup right? Or at least open in a tab, I think it i a setting on FB. I don't think it is a Safari Notification though. Looks more like an actual setting in FB.

EDIT: Okay just looked, click the settings in FB and go to Notifications, then Notifications in FB. There is a lot to turn off.

I searched the internet for this, you don't happen to have Chrome installed do you? It almost looks like the Chrome problem that is documented on these two sites:

The URLs I pasted were not allowed to be posted, so search Google for this: facbook notification popups in safari

The top two results are what I referenced, and the Chrome problem is persistent whether Chrome is running or not.

If it isn't that, one thing is certain, the problem affects many Facebook users, doesn't solve your problem, but you are not alone ...
