assistive touch freezes after update to iOS10.2

Hello,

Earlier I had an issue, which I observed after updating my iPhone 6S to 10.1.1

- The Phone app freezes, nothing can be done - until you kill the app (double click and swipe off)

- Secondly when you go to contacts app, you cannot search by typing name. The only solution for Contacts app search to be fixed is by doing a soft reset. But even that will work hardly 2 days, after which Contacts app doesn't allows to search.

Now after updating to iOS 10.2 yesterday, that issue has been resolved. Not seen it until now (keeping my fingers crossed).

But I observed another issue: Now the assistive touch is freezing.

The assitive touch becomes unresponsive and does not works. it doesn't recognize your touch. Only after you press the home button and change the orientation from Portrait to landcsape or vice versa, that it starts working again.

But this repeats after some time and you need to repeat the above steps again so as to get it started.

Has anyone observed this issue ? If yes, is there any other way to fix this or we need to wait until the next update.

Guys, Apple doesn't read forum comments to check and fix issues experienced by users!

So let Apple know about this apparent bug and file a real bug report so they get aware of this issue and fix it in The upcoming update!

same problem, I have a 6 plus, I've just updated my iOS to 10.2 and this became my number 1 problem..the screen freezes on the passcode screen, clicking the home button works, but once I get to the "enter passcode" screen it just froze. This is my 2nd time, the first time I took it to Apple and they reset my phone and told me it was one of the apps, the apps I had was nothing crazy, it was only youtube, instagram, whatsapp - - - the usual.. Now the problem is coming back again, and the only way is to do a hard restart (home + power wait for 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, tried that, doesn't fix the fact that it freezes on the passcode screen!!!)... anyone know what the **** is going on? It's frustrating...

oh yea, and sometimes, the passcode is inaccurate, example : I press 6 and it entered a 3... so ***....

can anyone please help....?

The problem is still present with ios 10.3. Assistive touch home butto does not respond when hitting first but will do with the following hit. Have tried to solve this issue but with no success. Is seemingly a bug ...

Hi, zafar_av.

It sounds like you're having issues with the AssistiveTouch being unresponsive as well as freezing.

Make sure the screen is clean, clear of any oils, residues or liquids.

Have you tried restarting the device?
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Also, try toggling AssistiveTouch on and off in the Settings app.

Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch

I am experiencing the same problem. My assistive touch button not only freezes (since the 10.2 update), it freezes precisely where you don't want it to...over the send button when texting or using FB messenger.

Yes. mine too. it freezes momentarily then when physical home button's used, it works back again. Somebody should fix this error.

I have the same issue with my 5s and mini 4 after updating OTA to IOS10.2

My 5s battery seem to drain faster too. Will try restoring from itunes.

I think this is a bug. I experienced this yes. Also does anyone else experience a blank screen after closing a big application? I experienced it several times (but not everytime) when i'm closing somewhat demanding apps e.g. Real Racing 3, Sniper 3, or Tap titans 2. Then i'm given a blank (my wallpaper in opaque) screen after that. I need to press the home button to get things back to normal. Anybody else experiencing things like this?
