com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9934

I'm getting this error message when trying to import videos from my iPhone 6s in the photo app on MacOS. Photos are importing fine, it's just videos that generate this error message. They're all taken with the regular iPhone camera, so no funny formats.

I have read previous (very old) posts on this issue that resolved it with changing permissions of the Picture folder, but that hasn't worked.

I have similar symptoms when trying to import videos, resulting in the error "The operation couldn't be completed (com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9934)". I am on Macbook Air 2013, Sierra 10.12.3 and Photos 2.0 (3130.0.240), and trying to import from an iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 10.2.1 (14D27). Individual imports seem to work but multiples error out. I have just returned from vacation and with over 250 photos / videos, importing one at a time is sub-optimal <grin>!! Assistance from Apple would be most appreciated.

I have everything updated to whatever is the latest version, MacOS, Photo app, iOS.

The latest vversion you are seeing in the update panel willd epend on the version you have installed and the architecture of your MAc.

Please check the version number of your macOS in the main menu:  > About this Mac.

Which version number does it show in the "About" panel?
