I'm soooo frustrated with the alarm/ snooze button function!

The default should be snooze on until alarm is turned off as it was in the old phones. I was late for work because I tapped the alarm window in my barely conscious state turning it off completely.

For snoozers , this Makes dependability a crapshoot ! Why would a snooze function require alertness to operate ?

At the least, it should be something that can be set to habits !

When you set your alarm in iOS 10, you have the option of having the snooze function off or on. It's located at the bottom of the screen, and swiping that switch on is a split second decision. Sounds like you'd want snooze on as you describe waking up as a barely conscious state.

Also, as a helpful hint, you might want to set up your alarms when you're fully awake so you have everything the way you want it.

This still doesn't work for me.. I fall asleep with music playing at night so my volume is on. My iPhone 7 plus used to work where the alarm would make noise. Now using the same alarm I have been using since I got the phone the alarm will only vibrate. An alarm sound was chosen, my volume is on and still only vibrates. I haven't changed any of my sound settings and all of sudden the alarm stopped making noise. It does the same thing on new alarms too. Luckily I'm a light sleeper but my boyfriend isn't and he has the same issue with his iPhone 7 plus.

This problem became evident to me in December 2016 ... after updating my iPad 2 ( bought April 2013 ) the in- built alarm function of the Apple Clock has been 100% unreliable.

Since then, no Apple updates have fixed the problem. Disgusting.

The problem - the alarm will "sound" but WITHOUT sound.

The only way to deal with this problem is to turn the iPad ( or iPhone, etc. ) OFF, then restart it.

Check - as usual - that the volume is not on " zero" on your Device, and the alarm will work the next morning.

How long the alarm will continue to work after a complete power off then on is with me totally random - perhaps it will work for a month, perhaps only for 2 days. Today my alarm failed after my reset done 5 days ago.

Apple - why don't you fix some of these " simple " faults, instead of mucking around with new stuff. I am fortunate - I have a Samsung 'phone alarm that has never failed; and usually I can ask the hotel to give me a Wake-up call: your alarm CANNOT be relied on !

Let's face it - the Alarm App SHOULD have direct access to the Device volume control, so that it CANNOT be inadvertently turned off either with the volume side button, or with a " Do not Disturb" function.

I'm pretty sure your alarm is going off. But you, me, and a lot of other people are heavy sleepers and can't hear the alarm go off. This is causing me to sleep till 2:00, and it's driving me crazy! Anyways, the alarm will go off, but it stops going off after a while. I don't know why, but that's something they shouldn't put on a alarm. I wake up everyday with my alarm silent. Some days I can wake up from it. Most days not. Maybe Apple will make the alarm able to keep replaying forever in future updates so we can't run into this issue.

Because it doesn't seem to be a bug with iOS. I understand you're having a problem but the cause may not be what you think it is. The alarm is not turned off by either Do Not Disturb or the hardware mute switch on the side of the phone.

I don't know the cause of your issue but there are some steps you can take. Make sure that you don't have Bedtime enabled for the same time as an alarm. That can cause conflicts. Delete all of your alarms and add them back in. Restore your phone from a back up.

I have had no alarm clock except my iPhone for about the last 5 years. I have never, not once, had it fail on me.

My boyfriend and I don't get to see each other often So sometimes we stay up on the phone all night and we fall asleep. We both work so when we need to wake up in the morning and we put alarms on, his works, and he has an iPhone 4 and 6. I have just an iPhone 6 and it won't work. My alarm used to ring when I would be on the phone with him or on the phone at all. But now it only rings when I put the call on speaker. And I tried to put on my vibrator but that doesn't work at all. Considering I have an iPhone 6 I didn't think this would be an issue. I tried most of the solutions on this page. Nothing has worked. Please help if you can!
