How to sign out of devices to change Apple ID

Sorry, I really didn't know where to post this question.

I want to change my Apple ID since I am changing my email address. Directions on Apple site say to "sign out of every Apple service and device" before signing in to Apple ID account page. How do you sign out of a device? I don't even know what that really means. Does it mean to remove my devices from the Apple ID account page? (I can't very well remove my MacBook if I want to use it to access my Apple ID account can I?

I can sign out of iTunes and iCloud, but that's all I know. What else do I need to do?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

No, it means log out of the account, which you can directly on each device/computer that the account is being used (it's best to sign out before changing the primary email address, and back in with the updated version afterwards) : What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password - Apple Support

So for the stores tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store

For iCloud : Settings > iCloud > Sign Out

Messages : tap on the id in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive

FaceTime : tap on the id in Settings > FaceTime

For a computer's iTunes : Account > Sign Out menu option

For iCloud on a Mac : System Preferences > iCloud
