I have iCloud for Windows installed on my PC (Windows 10/Surface). When I download my pictures from iCloud I get double pics. Is there a reason for this and how do I fix it so I only get one picture downloaded?
When I look at my photos on my iPhone 5SE there is only one photo.

And how do I cancel this download? There is no such feature? Since automatic synchronisation doesn't work, it stops at some point and there is no information about any progress or problem this is the worst cloud service ever!
and this freaking garbage forum edits links that I posted and removed all these slashes and the hostname from the link. Double fail. ... and I cannot even post this one now... triple fail, seriously apple?..
This doesn't make sense. I also have duplicated photos in ...\iCloud Photos\Downloads and in ...\iCloud Photos\Downloads\2016. I didn't create these folders for each year. I didn't move files to these folders, but I have duplicate photos and videos in these folders. ***?
I'm out of space and I see huge videos are duplicated there by apple's icloud software.
as a side note, the site is broken on firefox, I wasn't able to reply. Each time I click "reply" button it asks me to enter password and when I pass 2factor auth I'm back to square one: if I click reply again it offers me to log in again. Complete fail! In short, there was no way for me to reply using firefox. I also noticed that each time I tried that location in address bar kept adding slashes and after multiple retries I was at https://thread/7796355?start=0&tstart=0&replyId=31146018&replyId=31146018
Download your photos and videos from iCloud Photo Library
New photos and videos you add to iCloud Photo Library will automatically download to your PC. You can also download your collection by year when you follow these steps:
- Open a File Explorer window.
- Under Favorites, click iCloud Photos.
- Click Download Photos.
- Choose the photos and videos you want to download and click Download.
Your photos and videos download to the location you set in iCloud Photos Options.
