ipod classic 7th gen 120gb not recognised in itunes (windows 10)

Hi guys I've been trawling through these threads the last few days trying to find a solution to my issue.

My ipod has worked fine for the past 3 or 4 years that i have had it then one day i pulled it out of my bag and found the battery was dead so plugged it into my desktop computer and realised that it was now not showing up in itunes. I've tried resetting the ipod back to factory settings and uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and even itunes. Tried old versions of itunes and tried plugging into both my laptop and my brothers and it is not showing up in either.

I then borrowed my brothers ipod (7th gen, 160gb) and that shows up on my computer fine. What i did notice is that when i go into the device manager his ipod appears under "apple ipod usb device", "portable devices" and also "universal serial bus controllers" where as mine only shows up under "apple ipod usb device". Please see screenshots below showing drivers. Not sure what i need to do here any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Actually managed to find my own solution just in case anyone ever reads this thread. I plugged the ipod into a mac it immediately recognised the ipod but said it was corrupted and needed to be restored. Went through the restore process then took it back to my PC. Plugged in and finally the PC recognised but said format was unrecognisable so reformatted back to PC and all is working well.
