can some one open a CD burned from CC if they don't have cloud for photoshop?

Since many of us have lost the use of our 3 to 4 year old software for CS6 and due to Adobe and Mac's el Capitan

I have not been able to re-install CS6. I have had to buy CC which works but I have a question regarding sharing

burned CDs for artwork with layers, especially if the receiver does not have the cloud. Will they be able to open

the project? or will it just revert to a pdf?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Thank you Gary for supportive statement since most other people were telling me just the opposite. That includes guys from Mac and guys from Adobe. Somehow I waited and waited and decided after reading your post that I would try to install the software for CS6 one more time. There is a god and lo and behold, it installed it just fine. I was so surprised I was afraid to touch the machine. Opened up one of my saved works and it came up just fine. The strange thing is, it looks very similar to my CC7, it was like it learned something from it and it also kept the same way I used it before I lost it. These machines are smarter than we think!! Thank you again for your support Laura Urquidi

That's a question for the Adobe forums on how to use Adobe products.

However, my guess would be that, as with most software, files created

with a certain version of a product usually need at least that version or

newer to open.

Photoshop CS6 runs perfectly well in Yosemite, El Capitan and Sierra, therefore there is something wrong with your system if Photoshop can't be installed.

Image files produced by any version of Photoshop in any file format, including psd files, can be opened in any image editing application as long as the application is compatible with that file format. The only limitation is that any feature supported in newer versions of Photoshop will be removed when opened in older versions of Photoshop e.g. layer effects or filters.

All flattened images will open without issue.
