I've received about 10 calls in less than 2 days on my mom's home land line (cold call) with a creepy female computerized message saying my iCloud account has been breached & to press one for tech support or call 855-218-9579 for tech support. The original call comes from the number 209-207-5000 (Tracey or Stockton, CA). Either way goes to the same call center, "Premier Tech Support" you can hear a busy call center in the background and the same man with and Indian accent answers after a brief message that your call will be monitored for quality assurance. When I ask why I received a call regarding my Apple or iCloud he either hangs up right away or doesn't say anything and all you hear is a busy call center in the background.

I called Apple Support and while I was on the line with a legit support tech on my iPhone, I received yet another call on the land line and let him listen to the creepy recording. He as well as many other recent articles on similar scams suggest reporting it to the FBI.

I had two automated calls today from "Apple" telling me that my icloud account has been breached. I immediately assumed that it was a scam but I was surprised at the level of sophistication of the scam. The caller ID said "Apple Inc." and when I called back the number that appeared on the caller ID - 408-996-1010 (this is not the same number that the message told me to call), the call went to a voicemail system that said it was Apple. Thus, it appears that the scammers are now spoofing Apple's number. I plan to report it to the FTC but wanted to report the call spoofing here as well.

Saw this post while trying to contact Apple regarding this same thing.

I just got the same phone call and I hung up. Usually when you get a scam call like that and you try to call back the call won't go through. This time the call went through and I got a recording saying " thank you for calling premium support" but I hung up before anyone came on the line. The number was 424-384-4005. What I don't understand is why can't these people be prosecuted?

Same thing happened to me today; thanks for posting. It's great to be able to check these things out before acting on them. SCAM!

I have a voice mail recording of the exact message they left. Funny thing was, the caller ID was 'Seth R'; what if it's Seth Rogen calling me? Yeah right; like I know him. I picked it up just for kicks.

With an official sounding automated voice (no accent), they say my applie icloud account has suspicious activity, and they are in support and want to talk to me; stay on the line, or call this number. In my case, the number was 855-648-**** (I think posting phone numbers is a no-no).

I've gotten a second call back that's exactly the same. I wonder what Seth R would think? Thou shalt not use the name Seth R in vain.

FBI directed me to FTC (Federal Trade Commission) @ 877-382-4357 (press #1, then #3) to report this since it initiates from a phone call & the internet hacking/phishing is only after people give out their information such as Serial Number, or Account Information, Personal Information letting them have access to their computer to "fix the problem". Some will also suggest you buy their Security Software when in actuality it is Malware! Change your passwords or do not use the same passwords for multiple accounts such as Linkedin (one that was mentioned as being hacked in the past).

I also received this recorded call (twice) this morning from 707-508-3500 and was instructed to call a different number back. I hung up immediately. I googled the 707 number and it comes up as an authorized Apple Store in California so it really does seem ligit. Glad I came on here to check it out first. These scammers just don't know when to stop. APPLE you need to take care of this.

One message on answering machine, then a live call which I answered. Announced the data breach and said to press 1, which I did. Same busy call center with a guy with an Indian accent asking me to sign onto my computer. The most curious thing he said was that he could only "fix" the problem if I was on my computer. Red flag went up. Hung up.

They have been calling me for the last 3 days. I finally answered today. They called on my home phone which is not tied to my icloud account in any way so I don't know how they got that. The caller ID is as follows: Apple Inc 408-960-0110. The robot voice tells you your icloud has been breached and to press 1 to speak with a rep or call a number that it gives out very quickly and only once. I pressed 1. The “rep” was a man with a heavy accent and very aggressive. I asked him my own verification questions. I asked him for the toll-free number so I could call back. He said it was the number I just called. OK, RIGGGHHHHT. So I told him no, you called me. He gave me the toll toll-freeer: 1800MYAPPLE (692-7753). But if you look up the caller ID number it comes up as an Apple location in San Jose CA. The 1-800-MYAPPLE is NOT an Apple phone number. I verified that on the Apple website. Total scam!!!

I got the same call 7-9 times with gaps of 30 minutes each. The number it came from was 212 209 3400 and they asked me to either all 8335254240 at apple or press 2 to connect to agent. I connected to agent and she asked me go online and do something and I asked her if it was phising and how could she prove it was apple and she said because we know your name (???) any way the 'name' they knew was not my name, but knowing my name doesnt proof anything. They could have picked it up from a phone book. Anyway, I did not go further with her but the rob call called back 6-7 tines and finally i blocked the call and changed my appleid.

Yesterday I got 9 phone calls on my landline (ID UNAVAIABLE) recorded msg saying the same about my icloud. Suddenly 3 more calls with ID: APPLE INC (310) 633-2670 recorded msg asking to call back for Apple Support, what I did just to check the scam. Machine answered: "Apple Support how may I help you?" I hung up! My landline is from a new cable company only 2 weeks recently installed in my new house.
