15" Macbook pro 2016 USB-C adapter wifi issue

Picked up my brand new 2016 MBP last week and finally got an USB-C to USB-3.1 adapter.

When I'm plugging the adapter into the computer the wifi gets disconnected. This is really frustrating!

Anyone else having this issue? I should say that the adapter is not made by apple.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2016), iOS 10.2

Hello, it's a little old topic but decided to answer anyway

I wrapped my USB adapter to ALUMINIUM FOLIO and immediately wifi is working. Oh my god, could you please Apple build your bloody expensive computers better, so that we wouldn't have to use FOLIO. I hope this would help someone else too.

Hi all,

It seems I have the same issue, but just wanna be sure before spending money.

* I just receive a Samsung Led HDMI (SD330)

* I bought this adaptator => USB 3.1 Type-C Adaptateur HDMI 4K, BACAKSY USB-C numérique AV adaptateur multiport pour Apple Macbook Chromebook Pixel D….

* I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports).

When I plug-> no wifi or come and back, not stable. When I unplug the adaptator. everything is fine.

And seems as I read, I have to change the hdmi adaptator (the USB 3.1 type-C....) ?? is that correct (20 euros trash... sniff).

Do you have an advice of a good one ?

thanks

Hi Honken,

This kind of things might happens when you are using an adaptor, or dongle, or any kind of peripheral that are not Compatible for Mac. or simply you get a defected adapter.

first thing that you should do, back to the seller, and ask to try with any demo model there. If the problem occurs, then the adapter is faulty, otherwise it's just not compatible with Mac.
