AirPods causing head pressure?

I got my AirPods a few weeks ago, right as they came out, and since the first time I put them on I've noticed that I start getting pressure headaches after a few minutes of use. I find this odd, as I've never had issues with the EarPods and I've used those ever since they came out. I also have another pair of Bluetooth headphones that I use with my Playstation, and I've never had an issue with those either. I've tried everything I can think of, including not putting them all the way in and just letting them kinda sit outside my ear canal.

The headaches aren't intense, but the slow building pressure is not exactly fun deal with. Has anyone else run into this issue? Better yet, has anyone else found a solution to this issue? I love these things, but they are getting hard to wear!

I have the same issue. Neve had this bad experience with Beats wireless. That's frustrating. I strongly believe it doesn't have nothing to do with the sound pressure. This is about radiations in my opinion. 😟

The wired EarPods are not the same size as the AirPods, the latter do not stay in my ears very well, the AirPods do. Since there have been many, many blind studies showing people cannot discern BT or WiFi non-ionizing radiation and many more showing they do not cause biological damage. Was this happening back in December when you saw the ENT?

Same on me !! Right after few minutes use, pain on head left side much more then right side !! Its not big pain but mild pain which made me to return and get my money back from apple !! In my opinion it's Bluetooth signal which transfer the data ( sound ) from phone to earpods and as EarPods is right close to my brain, i heard is not good for health and some how after long time use it cause like tumor or cancer ! This is the low frequenc Same as microwave i guess !!

So when you run your microwave does it cause extreme pain to you until it stops? When you go into the Apple Store do you immediately have extreme pain?

You are actually late to the party as they just released a report that cell radiation does not cause cancer.

If you bought them in the last 14 days return them and get your money back.

Editors write headlines and go with what they think will grab attention. Not all of the media sites, printed media I read did this as referring to "media" is like referring to "people". But the one exception they found is a puzzler and is currently being followed up. But you would have to get massive cell radiation levels far beyond what a cell phone can do. The hypothesis was proven, current levels are safe for use.

Yes! Exact same problem--tons of people are having the same issue and are talking about it online (and in this forum) but if you call Apple they say they've never heard of it. They literally told me to have my head examined (not joking, they said I should seek medical advice). CALL APPLE and report it, because according to the support people I spoke to they don't pay any regard to what's on the forums (even their own, here) and have never heard of anyone reporting this problem. Ridiculous! They should recall this product.

Google "Headphone headaches". You'll get many more.

And did you try the other searches I suggested.

That response from Apple does not surprise me at all. If you are complaining about being sick you don't make a Genius Bar appointment. Other than fit in your ear there is nothing in the AirPods that would cause your symptoms. And Apple cannot see or examine the shape of your ears.

Amy, i just ignore people with such responses. People just don't know how different each person is. No two are alike but might have similarities in certain aspects. I too just bought AirPods and noticing the same pressure in my head. You can sense the tone from others who try to downplay what people are reporting and people who claim to speak for . I just ignore and take what I need from the conversations and drop the rest. Most times you don't need a doctor as our bodies speak to us very clearly when something is wrong and lifestyle plays a big part. At least i've observe for myself personally. Will see how this goes. For now will only use it when i absolutely have to and stick to my EarPods as I did not experience the pressure until i started using AirPods.

No one here claims to speak for Apple. Anyone with any common sense in this thread has suggested that, if you have severe headaches, you should be talking to a doctor as they can be a sign of something serious. Or they may not be. But, it can be quite hard to tell the difference. Lifestyle changes will not cure brain tumors.

The notion that "waves" or "radiation" from EarPods is the cause of headaches has no scientifically plausible mechanism. And people are generally far more alike than they are different, at least physiologically.

You just proved my point on how comments from some downplays experience of other human beings. When you say: "Anyone with common sense". What do you think that implies? Who defines common sense? Some people like me are noticing slight headaches and pressure which happens when they use their AirPods and asking if others are experiencing the same. I would call that common sense but that's my view.

Some have said: "Apple is not going to change the design of all of the AirPods because a few people have issues with them." so that's where am drawing my conclusion of some speaking for .

I do agree to see a doctor to try workout what is wrong but what i disagree is the downplaying of people's experience of using a product.

About lifestyle, I would say have patience. Time will reveal a lot connected with lifestyle choices that even science will confirm. However, all I've said is my personal opinion. People will hopefully choose to take what they want and leave what they don't agree with from my post as I do when reading others.

No one is downplaying anyone's experience. What IdrisSeabright said is that any symptoms have nothing to do with radiation or some sort of mysterious waves. That possibility has been extensively studied for 20 years, and there are no studies that were able to confirm a connection, and many studies that disproved any assertions of a connection. You can go to pubmed and research it yourself pretty easily: Home - PubMed - NCBI That does not mean that AirPods don't cause symptoms in some users; what is disputed is claims as to the cause of the symptoms.

If you suffer discomfort when using AirPods, then don't use them.
