Macbook Pro 13" Late 2016 has issues connecting to LG UltraFine 5K Display

The moment I connect to the monitor via the USB Type C port, both the MBP and monitor will flicker before the MBP crashes. Not sure if its hardware or software issue or both. Grateful for any opinions or fixes. The report is as follows:

I'm having similar problems. Although the LG 5K display worked just fine for the first two days with my 13" retina MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (late 2016), today when I tried connecting the cable (to the left side port), it caused my MacBook Pro's screen to turn off and to completely freeze; it became utterly inoperable, and the LG 5K did not turn on. I have tried multiple times to get it to work by restarting the MBP, and unplugging and replugging the 5K display, same result.

Any help from anyone on this?

I have a similar issue as mjjphoto.

I can connect the display to a 2016 MBP Pro 13" and it works great. At night, I switch off the displays (configured via a hot corner in the system settings) and when I get back to the MBP in the morning, it's off. After switching it on, macOS does a full start and says that it had crashed. I've also seen the displays (5K and MBP display) flicker at night. So, the displays are off but then switching on for a second every few seconds.

Check out my YouTube video:

https://youtu.be/C4VhfFMJa5g

When I first purchased my LG 5K UltraFine 27" monitor to pair it with my Late 2016 13" MacBook Pro with TouchBar, I thought it was a match made in heaven.
Wrong.
After about 4 days of working correctly without any issues, suddenly this pairing became an absolute nightmare of non functionality.
Connecting the MBP to the 5K monitor no longer works *at all*. Here's what happens:
- screen flashes
- black screens
- the keyboard freezes
- the cursor freezes
- eventually the MBP always becomes totally non-responsive
- sometimes it causes a kernel panic in the MBP
- the UltraFine 5K will sometimes turn on for a split second but never stays on consistently.
This video is one example of what happens consistently.
I'm currently on MacOS Sierra 10.12.2. I hope Apple addresses the issues with 10.12.3.
NOTE: I just brought my MBP into an Apple Store and connected to an LG 5K UltraFine floor model, and it worked. However, as I stated at the start of this post, my LG 5K monitor worked well for about 4 days before these issues developed, so I'm still not sure if this is a software issue (my best guess), a hardware issue with the MBP, or a hardware issue with the LG 5K.

Anyone have a solution?

I believe I might have solved my connectivity issues with my LG 5K display:

I had a Sonos speaker positioned next to the display. When I removed the Sonos speaker, the crashing, black screens, and freezes went away. If you have some sort of Wifi-enabled device like a router or speaker near the display, move it away and see if that resolves your problems.
