How do I delete the Wallet App from my iphone?

My iphone, with the new update, suddenly had a new app installed entitled "Wallet." This app has my credit card information, plus other personal details, which I never authorized for Apple to use. I have attempted to delete the app using the "touch" system to no avail. There is no way, and I have tried several icloud maneuvers, to delete the credit card or personal information contained in this app.

What's frightening, if I lose my phone, misplace it, or loan it to someone, my credit card information is there for the world to see. I tried to contact Apple, but after literally waiting two hours on the phone, the customer service rep had no answers and then abruptly disconnected me. Do any of you out there know what I can do? This is a horrific invasion of my privacy. Thank you.

1. It is the only phone I have in my classroom. Issues arise in which

students must call home. For example,

a. "I left my lunch at home."

b. "I left my science project in my Mom's car."

c. Communicating with parents when there is an issue in the

classroom. I often have the students phone Mom or Dad, and we speak with

he/she together.

You're saying that you allow the students to use your phone AND TO WALK AWAY FROM YOU WHILE DOING SO? Anyone concerned about security would watch them while they're using the phone. You're not the master of any domain.

The point of Wallet is it cannot be stolen, because the card is not actually on your device. The device only keeps an encrypted package that does not contain your card number and can only be read by your bank or CC institution. To actually use a card in wallet to pay for anything you need to provide either your passcode or fingerprint at the moment of purchase.

You can remove any cards there, and keep no card in Wallet, which makes any chance of any error impossible.

So not sure why its so offensive to have an App. Which poses no issues whatsoever if you understand what it does.

I just dealt with the same issue. You can take the card out so there is nothing in the wallet and no more notifications. Don't know how to completely delete the wallet. The answer is counterintuitive. Apple has your card info from some app you purchased or something else. I don't know. You are only being notified to activate it. It is not activated, but you must verify the card in order to delete it. You must first verify the card by entering your pin or verification number per the prompt. This will activate the card. Don't worry! Next below you may enter the button to delete the card. Apple will no longer notify you to set up the wallet.
